. ..  until maybe a month from now.

2nd annual Whole Hog dinner at Moody's Bistro in Truckee, CA or

There was actually no fixed menu which made ordering so difficult. I really wanted to try everything!
I can't remember what most of this is but all of it was freaking delicious.

This was pork leg that had been cooked in hay with cippolini (?) onions, apples, and baby carrots.

I naturally had to order the dish that involved sauerkraut. This had pork belly, a rib, bratwurst, and boar sausage. It was pretty good, but. . .

I couldn't even finish it. I was porked out.

And now for the best and messiest thing of the night! I ordered S'mores for dessert. I wasn't sure what I would get, but I knew it would be hard to go wrong with chocolate, marshmallow, and graham crackers.

DO YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THOSE THINGS? They were fresh marshmallows. The graham crackers weren't the standard, and neither was the chocolate. This is the nice picture.

By that I mean the one before I had marshmallow on my face, hands, arms, pants, etc.

Things I did not take pictures of: A decent salad that was difficult to eat. My pear-ginger cocktail. The marshmallow every where. They are doing the whole hog dinner through the 9th so I encourage you to go if you can. I also hear that another restaurant in Truckee called Dragonfly has a fish dinner sort of like the whole hog dinner. It took them 14 months to raise the pig.It was a berkshire (?) pig. But really, this was the first slow food dinner I have ever had and it was SO AMAZING. Rachel knew about it through the Slow Food Tahoe group.
