Dec. 28th, 2009 06:16 pmI tried on my brown dress. It's about one inch too big in the waist. Boobs are fine. Almost done rehabbing it. After this it's either put it up on Etsy for probably $50-75, or Gold Key it. It's not worth it to me to take the bodice off and remake it.
I am rehabbing it because several seams are coming apart and the skirt is coming unattached. This is the first thing I hand finished, and my machine stitching must have been set on only a few sitches per inch (why did I do that?). I did put the belt on with it, and for the first time I felt appropriately blingy.
I changed up my sewing schedule for reasons like OH HAI DOESN'T MATTER IF MY LOOSE GOWN IS FINISHED IF MY GOWN IS UNWEARABLE.
So
12/28 finishing mending brown dress
12/29 cut out cap and begin sewing
12/30 finish cap
12/31-1/4 finish loose gown
I am packing up and taking off on Jan 5. Before 12th Night Vittoria and I are going to make goodies for our poetry reading and the Duchesses' Ball which I am excited about. Playing with food! I am such a terrible cook though, seriously. My mom gave me one task for Christmas: Roast the chestnuts. I failed. I put them in for 20 minutes per the Joy of Cooking, and I petrified those nuts!
Seriously.
