But sweet lord, I am laughing so hard.

In Joachim Remak's The Nazi Years: A Documentary History there is a document that pertains to forbidden and undesirable books. The Ministry of Propaganda gave reasons for banning a book. When the Ministry of Propaganda could not come up with a valid reason to list a book as harmful and undesirable for public consumption, they placed it on “List No. 2 (undesirable for public libraries and for juveniles)” (85). P. Struns and Wolf Grief’s book, The Red Devil, was undesirable for juveniles because a great literary critic deemed it “waste paper, pure and simple. Structure primitive, writing bad” (85).

This is freaking hilarious. It's like they were grasping at anything they could to keep this one book away from as much of the public as they could. And all they could come up with is a critique of the writing?

WTG, Goebbels. WINNAR!!!
