The Stash Challenge
Feb. 18th, 2009 08:03 amTimes be tough, so our fabric stashes are like our little victory gardens. We need to HARVEST OUR CREATIVITY. Every outfit from here on out HAS to come from your fabric stash. The rules of the challenge are:
1. YOU CANNOT BUY NEW FABRIC, but you can buy
1a. Thread
1b. fastenings that are not decorative (hooks and eyes, lacing, etc.) No buttons or clasps
1c. if you run out of guarding midproject, you can buy more.
2. You CAN trade fabric! But only stash for stash
3. You can dye fabric too. If you don't have the dye, you can buy it.
If you really want to get serious, you can take pictures of your stash and say what you plan to use each bit of it for. Really the idea is to use what you've got. Edited to add: This can go on for as long as you want. 1 outfit or 10 or 1000.
So, there you have it. Bring all the fabric you'd be willing to trade, and let magic happen.
So now that we're at it:
FABRIC FOR TRADE:
Green wool. I have a washed 6 yard piece and an unwashed 2 2/3 yards piece. It's like a 14th century manuscript green. I would like to trade it for approx 6 yards of a brick red wool or 2 5 yard pieces of midweight linen. We can discuss colors if you wanna make a trade.
